Description
This course is designed to teach you and your dog the necessary skills needed
to participate in a variety of fun and exciting outdoor adventures that can
be enjoyed throughout all four seasons. These classes will teach you and
your dog how to tailor basic skijoring skills, for the purpose of applying
them to the seasonal sports of Skiing, Bicycling, Roller-Blading, Skate-Boarding,
Carting, Scootering, Jogging, etc. All classes are taught by Certified Dog
Trainer/Behaviour Therapist, Sylvia Gottschalk, CTB.ccs, who enjoys over
fourteen years of sledding experience.
You will learn these skills during this program however, it takes
time to condition, train, fine-tune and master your dogs skills. As
with any program, you and your dog will have to regularly use these
techniques to train and condition.

Pre-requisites
Completion of Basic or Level 1 (punishment-free) Training Class.
Dog must be living with handler for at-least 6 months and must be spayed/neutered
and in good physical condition.
Dog must have proof of yearly physical along with up to date license and rabies
tag or titer.
Outline
Through this program you and your dog work with the trainer and lead dog and
other dog/owner teams in a group environment including six weekly sessions.
Week One: Introduction, Harness & Belt Fitting, Teaching Start, Stop & Stay
Commands on Leash (1 hr)
Week Two: Direction & Control Commands On Leash, Harness Desensitization
(1 hr)
Week Three: Direction & Control Commands in Harness, Drag Desensitization
(1 hr)
Week Four: Adding Control Commands With Drag While in Harness (1 hr)
Week Five: Hooking Up Belt/Line(s) & Command Integration (1 hr)
Week Six: Safety & First Aid, Getting Used To Equipment Without Dog, Award
Graduation Certificates (1hr)
Maximum class size of 6dogs.
