Activi-Joring ℠ Class
Skiing/Biking/Roller-Blading & More with your Dog!
This course is designed to teach you and your dog the necessary skills needed to participate in a variety of fun and exciting outdoor adventures that can be enjoyed throughout all four seasons. These classes will teach you and your dog how to tailor basic skijoring skills, for the purpose of applying them to the seasonal sports of Skiing, Bicycling, Roller-Blading, Skate-Boarding, Carting, Scootering, Jogging, etc.
You will learn these skills during this program however, it takes time to condition, train, fine-tune and master your dogs skills. As with any program, you and your dog will have to regularly use these techniques to train and condition.
All classes are taught by Certified Dog Trainer/Behaviour Therapist, Sylvia Gottschalk, CTB.ccs, who enjoys over twenty years of sledding experience.
Classes run for 6 weeks for 1 hour per week. Maximum 4 dogs per class.
Pre-registration and payment required atleast 1 month prior to start date.

Waiting List Instructions: Fill out the enrollment form and pick the class or seminar/workshop you would like. In the section where it asks for a start date, type "waiting list" and then submit the form. Once we have sufficient interest, we will contact you accordingly.
Price: $400+hst = $452.00
Fee includes: Harness, Ski-jor Belt, Tow-Line, Bike Line, “ Invisible Boot” Protection Cream, Training Manual
Delightful Dog's Level One (Basic) & Level Two (Intermediate) Training Classes or Equivalent *
* Non Delightful Dogs' graduates are subject to compatibility test. Call to confirm & schedule test.
(Note: a compatibility test fee is $25+hst)
Dog must be one year of age at the start of the course and be living with the handler for at least six months.
All vaccinations must be up to date and proof brought to the first class.
Dog must be wearing an up to date license and rabies tag.
Dog must arrive on no longer than a six foot leash and buckle collar.
Dog and handler must be in good physical condition.
Dog must be spayed/neutered.
Handlers must be atleast 18 yrs of age.
Owners should wear comfortable, rubber soled footwear.
Aggressive dogs are not permitted in classes - see Private Training page for this service
Through this program you and your dog work with the trainer and lead dog and other dog/owner teams in a group environment including six weekly sessions.
Week One: Introduction, Harness & Belt Fitting, Start, Stop & Stay Commands on Leash (1 hr)
Week Two: Direction & Control Commands On Leash, Harness Desensitization (1 hr)
Week Three: Direction & Control Commands in Harness, Drag Desensitization (1 hr)
Week Four: Adding Control Commands With Drag While in Harness (1 hr)
Week Five: Hooking Up Belt/Line(s) & Command Integration (1 hr)
Week Six: Safety/First Aid, Getting Used To Equipment Without Dog, Graduation Certificates (1hr)
*Please note that this class does not include any off-leash playtime.
