Jenny Maciel
We are thrilled to announce that Jenny Maciel has joined the Delightful Dogs' Team!
Demand for our classes has risen greatly over the past 25 years but over the past few years, we have seen a surge in adoptions and lack of available resources for all these dogs. Sylvia was finding it very hard having to constantly turn away clients due to her always being full months in advance. With the demands of running the business and teaching 2 evenings per week already, she knew she couldn't do more but she knew something had to change.
Upon talking with a few colleagues about possibly bringing in another trainer, one of them mentioned that Jenny Maciel was looking for such an opportunity. Sylvia was so excited to hear this news and when Jenny and her met for coffee and discussed possible options, not only did it feel like a family reunion, Sylvia knew right then and there that Jenny was a perfect fit and exactly what she was looking for!
Sylvia has known Jenny for over 20 years in the pet industry. Starting back when they had their location on Rothsay Avenue, where Jenny ran Happy Tails Doggy Daycare out of the same facility. At that time, Jenny was also volunteering at the Humane Society as well taking her Dog Training Certification Course.
Jenny has continued to work in many dog related fields since then in Daycare, Training, Vet Clinics and through the Humane Society. Her love and passion for dogs under her care has always been excellent and her skill as an animal care professional is simply outstanding. There was no question that Jenny would make a valuable asset to the Delightul Dogs' team.
During the Fall of 2021, Jenny mentored under Sylvia to prepare her to teach Puppy and Adult Level One Classes at Delightful Dogs. In March 2022, Jenny began teaching classes on Monday and/or Wednesday evenings during the Spring and Fall seasons.
We are happy to have her become a part of our team in order for us to be able to help more dogs and puppies in the future.
