UPDATES:
June 5, 2023: Details Received From The Region:
"Through traffic are expected to detour around the construction site. Local access is for access to local properties only and there should be no expectation to get through (end to end).
This week you should have access to your property from both the south end (Bloomingdale Rd/Sawmill Rd.) as well as the north end (Sawmill Rd and St. Charles St. West) as this week’s construction operation is not expected to have much impact (no large excavations, etc). By this Friday, the asphalt road surface is scheduled to be removed and this may have a short duration impact to your driveway during the day.
Starting next week, construction and excavation will begin on the south limit (Sawmill Rd near River St.) and you should plan to detour around to the north (Sawmill/St. Charles St. W) to access your property. Depending on the time of your classes, the day’s construction activity may be completed and therefore may not be an issue for your customers with leaving your property.
You will not need to show anything to have local access to your property.
Please connect with me weekly and I will provide an update on the construction so that you can communicate with your customers accordingly."
May 30, 2023: Road Signs are up indicating construction will begin on/about June 5, 2023. No other details known at this time.
March 2, 2023: Details Received From The Region:
"During construction, Sawmill Road will need to be closed to through traffic; however, you will have local access to your property during the road closure. This local access may, at times, be restricted (i.e., only access from one direction) for example: only access from the south, while construction is primarily to the north of your property; or only access from the north, while construction is primarily to the south of your property.
The Region will have a full time construction inspector on site during construction and we will endeavour to communicate changes to access in advance so that you can notify/assist your clients with selecting the most appropriate route to your business.
Additional details will be available in the coming weeks; however, I wanted to connect with you now, recognizing that your business relies on access to your property."
